This is a picture of Luke Rowles when he was 15. He saw a group of men in a garden, kicking and beating this poor fox whose mouth had been sealed shut with duct tape. Lucas went straight to them without regard to his own safety, he shouted at the men and grabbed the fox. After healing his wounds, he freed the animal. Today, Luke continues rescuing animals for the RSDR - The world needs more brave people like Luke, with an unconditional will to help those in need.
He’s more of a man than those fools will ever be. I need to meet more people with souls as beautiful as his.<3

Fluid motion is captured as a floral still life in these high-speed photos by Jack Long. The artist keeps mum about his set-up but notes that these are single capture events, not constructed composites. It looks as if the blossoms are created from the impact of a falling fluid with the upward jet that forms the stem. The leaves and vase appear to be created from the upward splashes, but whether those are generated by vibration or dropping an object is unclear. See Long’s Flickr page for more. Prettier than the real thing.
Deep in the rainforests of the Indian state of Meghalaya, bridges are not built, they’re grown. For more than 500 years locals have guided roots and vines from the native Ficus Elastica (rubber tree) across rivers, using hollowed out trees to create root guidance systems. When the roots and vines reach the opposite bank they are allowed to take root. Some of the bridges are over 100 feet long and can support the weight of 50 people.
